  • St. Hans

    The St. Hans holiday (or midsummer eve) is named after St. John the Baptist. Quite why I don’t know, but it’s the longest day of the year. At this time of year the sky never really goes dark. This photo taken late last Friday.

  • Glowing hill

    I went in to Årdal last night again, to go fishing. No fish (again) but the dog came along and had a great time swimming in the river and generally being neurotic every time I went down to fish. The sunset was pretty spectacular, and with big mountains and hills you get some cool effects…

  • Human vs. animal

    It’s a bit of an unfair fight really, spiderwebs don’t really stand a chance when we decide to play badminton where they’ve made their homes.

  • Opening night

    The Salmon season has started here, on the first of June to be exact. True to tradition we were in Årdal ready for the midnight start, and at 00:02, Nic caught the first salmon of the year. Happy fishing!

  • Bruce!

    We’ve been away for a few days watching Bruce Springsteen perform his magic at Koengen in Bergen. The concerts were pretty amazing, you can read about them here. No professional looking photo today though, a photo of the great man himself will have to suffice, taken by Tonje with a mobile phone:)

  • Catch

    Catching crabs and lobsters in pots is one of the great joys of summer. I really like the sunsets at this time of year when the light can make even the most mundane items golden:)

  • Pumped!

    Literally and metaphorically:) The salmon season started yesterday, and although I wasn’t lucky enough to catch one, we had a great evening in at the caravan fishing. Status on the car: I have got a rental car from the insurance company, and am now waiting for my new wheels.

  • Going somewhere?

    These two jet contrails side by side gave me a feeling of “Oh my God I cant wait to be going on holiday”, so I had to post them here. Where are you going on holiday this year?

  • Flowers this evening

    Not much time for photography these days, lots to do at work, and lots of golf to play:) These are in the neighbours garden, so I didn’t have to go very far.

    National day is for big and small, here represented by a “small”. It’s always funny to see the little kids who don’t really know what’s going on:)
