  • At dusk

Looking out towards the houses on the other side of the road this evening, I was struck by just how warm it looked insisde there compared to the coldness of the temperature, and the colours outside. We took the wee man out for a spin in his pram today as well, so all in all,…

  • Safe

So, 2 days without a photo of the wee man, and the relatives are getting restless. Auntie was here and he seemed to like her a lot. So much, in fact, that he fell asleep on her:)

    Doggone good time

As promised I managed not to post a picture of the baby today. The dog and I were out on the frozen fjord the other day, and I think it’s safe to say that she enjoys the snow:)

    Sleeping beauty

I keep telling myself that I have to stop bombarding the net with photos of the wee man. And then I take another photo that needs publishing. OK, different topic tomorrow. For today though, here is another photo of Alexander.

  • The first 24 hours

    The first 24 hours

It’s difficult to describe how great it feels to see a wee man that you’ve helped to create lying there. I know I’m getting all sentimental and gushing here, but it really is quite amazing. Well, except for being woken up every 2 hours all night. That’s not what we agreed! A gentle cough would…

  • Vøyenenga skole

Unbelievably, it’s STILL snowing. The local ski hill had a halfpipe competition going on so I took the dog out for a walk to have a look. The guys doing the jumping are really good! Photography wise it was a bit of a dead end though, and on the way back I stopped at the…

  • What is the answer?

One of the big advantages of working for the company that employs me is that I get to borrow some of the best photo equipment. Today I got to try an 85mm f/1.2 L II lens, and the extremely shallow depth of field posed some questions which I haven’t quite worked out how to answer.

  • Tyred…geddit?

Tyre tracks in the snow mean nice patterns on the ground. Snowing again today though. Will it ever stop? who can say? My wife has expressed concern that winter will never stop and that we’re in groundhog day. It is getting lighter though, it wasn’t TOTALLY dark when I went for the afternoon constitutional.

  • Snow wall

Yesterday we saw the first sign of spring. Not a big sign by any means, but a sign nonetheless. This snow is on a handrail just along from our flat, and the sun has just started to melt it. It’s amazing how good it feels. So we woke up this morning to -14 and overcast.…

  • Retrieval

..of a lump of snow of all things. It’s been a great weekend with skiing in Norefjell and a visit from home. The cold has set in again, -14 at the moment. There’s lots of snow as well, and despite me not being the best winter person in the world, there is a case to…
