As promised I managed not to post a picture of the baby today. The dog and I were out on the frozen fjord the other day, and I think it’s safe to say that she enjoys the snow:)
What is the answer?
One of the big advantages of working for the company that employs me is that I get to borrow some of the best photo equipment. Today I got to try an 85mm f/1.2 L II lens, and the extremely shallow depth of field posed some questions which I haven’t quite worked out how to answer.
Tyred…geddit?
Tyre tracks in the snow mean nice patterns on the ground. Snowing again today though. Will it ever stop? who can say? My wife has expressed concern that winter will never stop and that we’re in groundhog day. It is getting lighter though, it wasn’t TOTALLY dark when I went for the afternoon constitutional.
Snow wall
Yesterday we saw the first sign of spring. Not a big sign by any means, but a sign nonetheless. This snow is on a handrail just along from our flat, and the sun has just started to melt it. It’s amazing how good it feels. So we woke up this morning to -14 and overcast. [...]
Retrieval

Breathtaking
At Norefjell today, I was lucky enough to stand below one of the jumps in the ski/snowboard park. The conditions were perfect for skiing, something these two madmen were more than happy to take advantage of. This weeks photofriday challenge is Breathtaking
Travels
Whether it’s the power travelling through cables, the skiers travelling on the snow, or just whatever journey you happen to be on at the time, there’s always movement. It really was a beautiful day skiing today. This week’s photofriday challenge is Travels
Decaying suburbia
Near our new flat is an abandoned garden centre that is to be torn down to make way for yet more flats. Kind of sad to see buildings decaying like this, but at least it makes for some good points of view, especially since we had 20cm of snow yesterday and no-one had disturbed it [...]
Ice light
In Stavanger it’s not uncommon for lakes to freeze, but near Sandvika the sea freezes, and in the afternoon sun some interesting light patterns can be found.
