Rainbow, sun, rain, dark clouds, thunder. We had it all in the space of 1/2 hour today. Made for some cool photos though:)
Leafdrops
It’s been raining here the last few days, and being outside isn’t fun. But hey, rain can leave drops on leaves right?
Gutten med seljefløyten
I’ll be the first to admit that this isn’t the best or most outstanding picture I’ve taken, but the picture has historical significance. The painter Christian Skredsvig painted one of the most famous paintings in Norway, “Gutten med Seljefløyten” here. The stamp below shows the original.
Spot
We were out for a walk in the woods today and came across a field of nettles where there were loads of butterflies. I’ll be the first to admit that the peacock butterfly isn’t the rarest, but it’s pretty. This weeks photofriday challenge (www.photofriday.com) is Spot.
Ropes and wood
The tall ships races in Stavanger last weekend gave ample opportunities to take photos of rope and wood. Together with the smell of tar and sea it was a great experience.
Enormous
This weeks Photofriday challenge (www.photofriday.com) is Enormous. We were at the beach yesterday and in the face of a stiff northerly breeze we had a fantastic time. Or at least I did. The others complained about the wind.
Tall ships at sunset
The 2011 Tall ships races are in town (www.tallships.org) and the sun finally came out today. I saw the sunset and had to break off some top-level Midsomer murders watching to go and take pictures.

Out at my sisters cabin the other day the kids were having great fun with a bubble machine. I say kids, I was having great fun too:)

The tall ships races are coming to Stavanger next week and what better way to introduce them than to have a great red sky. Red sky at night, sailors delight.
Things to do on a rainy day
The weather has been atrocious today so what to do? I’ve toyed with the idea of trying to take some stylised baby photos like you see in photographers gallery windows. I’ve got a long way to go, but this is a first effort.
